Project: BBC Training - ‘Diversity’

Project: Gillingham FC

Service: HD Film Crews & Chromakey Services

Service: HD Film Crews

Following on our specialist work in chromakey filming, we supplied our services to another BBC training module, this one on Diversity. We shot a series of interviews on location, and the studio PTCs too.
The main acquisition was a day’s shoot in studio, shooting all the presenter's chromakey elements. We also provided our post keying service to output the files as ‘Keyed Alpha Channel’ QuickTime files for the module designers to simply drag-n-drop the files as pre-keyed foreground elements.
This has been a winning formula for other BBC training modules, which our DOP Une Herzer has produced on subjects from production safety to child protection.
For more information of how we operate these packages, please see our ‘Services page’and 'Chromakey page'.
Lately we have been shooting several promos for football clubs. For this one we were in Gillingham with Chris Neilson of Purple Pig Productions. Giving the season roundup we were joined with SKY Sports’ chief football reporter Nick Collins, interviewing Chairman Paul Scally and Manager Andy Hessenthaler.

Project: CNN - ‘Homeless Feature’

Project: International Documentary - ‘Kidnapped in Japan’

Along with the ongoing News shoots we do, this special feature stood out. CNN were looking at the opposite side of life in the run up to the Royal Wedding. We spent the night travelling through London in a mobile soup kitchen interviewing the homeless and reporting on their perspective to the grand occasion about to begin the next day.
We spent a week in Geneva, Switzerland filming for a human rights documentary on kidnappings that occurred in Japan. This project continued with shoots in Japan, Italy and the States. It was good to work with old friends on this; Andrew Davies is a producer we've known for 20+ years now.

It’s been a while since we were last in Geneva, at that time filming a doc on the RPO, and filming one of the last interviews with Yehudi Menuhin.

Project: Scottish Coast - Pilot

Project: BBC - Radio 2 Special Feature

Service: HD Film Crews

Service: HD Film Crews

This was a fun 2 weeks spent on the beautiful Scottish North East coast. Based in Penan (famous for the setting from the movie ‘Local Hero’), this picturesque location was ‘a breath of fresh air’. Shooting stories on folklore, history and geography, we got the chance to explore land, sea and air on this one. Diving sunken Valentine tanks from WWII, aerial filming, and long hikes along rocky terrain.
Red Bee Media again called us in, this time for a special feature for BBC Radio 2. Shot on HDCAM with a PRO 35 adaptor and a set of Zeiss Super Speed primes… well it is a promo. Our 3 man crew worked on a tight schedule in between broadcasts with DJ's jumping into the studios, lighting, shooting and getting out as the day unfolded.

Project: BBC News - ‘Elections 2010’

Project: Brouard Achitects

Service: HD Film Crews

Service: Architectural Photography

Covering news assignments for various stations is a regular event here. However no one could know that this year our crew would be in a pitched standby state filming on and off for a 33 hour shift!...
All in a days work… or two.
Commissioned to record the final finished buildings by architect firm, Philip Brouard Associates for print and web.

Our 2 man photography crew covered the locations supplying panoramas, exterior and interior coverage.

Project: Top Gear Promos

Service: HD Film Crews

top_gear_promo
5 promos in one day seem to be a prerequisite these days, and we are happy to oblige.
With Red Bee we shot these on location for the new Top Gear promos, where we saw the famous 3 as their younger selves in the ‘70’s dreaming of what the future would have in store for them.

Red Bee Media had us on a larger than usual shoot for this project, which took place over 2 days. For BBC’s comedy run on Thursday nights, we were part of a 30+ crew shooting on five purpose built sets. We shot 5 promos in 11 hours!!

We supplied lighting designs, 2 x camera crews with dollies and jibs and a video assist. It is always a pleasure working with Red Bee’s creatives.
